The Madison

The Madison Avenue Pub is a classic Toronto patio; in fact, we would go so far to call it the quintessential pub patio. The Maddy, as it’s lovingly referred to, is actually a converted house which is nestled in the heart of the Annex and just a stone’s throw from Bloor Street. Its draw is the central location with a local, casual appeal, five patios, regular pub fare, and fun atmosphere. This is the perfect patio for large groups because of its size, picnic bench-style seating, and entertainment offerings (flat-screen TVs, live music, people-watching opportunities etc.) and of course, its selection of over 100 draught beers. Don’t be fooled by its décor; it looks like an old college bar, but attracts pub n’ patio lovers from near and far. The Madison bursts at the seams on summer nights, so if you plan on going in the evening, we suggest going early. For a sunnier experience, we recommend visiting the Maddy in the afternoon for a day of chilling, chugging, and chowing.
The Boiler House
55 Mill St
Toronto, ON
416-203-2121
While this is a place to see and be seen, it’s got a super-cool patio and doubles as a live music venue. The Distillery District is one of the best-kept secrets that Toronto has to offer and this patio will do it’s best to let you in on the secret. While the dinner and brunch menu is a touch on the expensive side, no where does it say that going for just for drinks is a no-no. Visit the Boiler House for great outdoor live tunes and a healthy-sized patio to accommodate your R&R requirements.
